Know what you're importing before it ships.

Check a vehicle's Japanese auction record, mileage history and accident records before you commit, and hand your buyers a report they can trust.

Why importers check every unit with CarTrust

One bad unit can wipe out the margin on a whole shipment.

Avoid problem units

Accident records, auction grade and mileage history surface the vehicles you shouldn't ship.

  • Auction record
  • Accident and damage records
  • Mileage history

Fewer surprises after landing

Decide faster

Search a chassis number and see the vehicle match straight away. If the full report needs more time, we show the expected date and email you when it's ready.

  • Search by chassis number
  • Email when the report is ready
  • Report history in your dashboard

No waiting at your desk

Predictable costs

Your per-report price is agreed up front; the wallet shows exactly what you've spent.

  • Price agreed for your volume
  • Wallet log of every purchase

How CarTrust fits your day-to-day

  1. 01

    Before you pay the supplier

Check the chassis numbers on your supplier's offer: auction grade, photos and mileage.

  2. 02

    Know the duty

Use the CRSP duty calculator to see the duty and levies for the model and year before you quote.

  3. 03

    When the car lands

Book a CarTrust inspection at your yard to confirm the condition matches the record.

  4. 04

    Hand over with the record

Give your client the report PDF with the car, useful for their insurer and lender.

What it looks like in practice

Example scenarios based on what CarTrust reports actually show. Vehicles, places and figures are illustrative.
Example

"Grade 4.5, like new"

The situation
A supplier offers a 2018 Toyota Fielder described as grade 4.5, like new.
What CarTrust showed
The auction record shows grade 3.5, noted scratches and a panel repair.
The outcome
The importer renegotiates before paying, not after the car has landed in Mombasa.
Example

A landed price the client can trust

The situation
A client wants a 2019 Mazda CX-5 within a fixed budget.
What CarTrust showed
The CRSP duty calculator shows the duty and levies for that model and year.
The outcome
The importer quotes a landed price up front, with no surprise at clearance.
Example

"Is this the car I paid for?"

The situation
A clearing agent imports cars for individual clients.
What CarTrust showed
Each client receives the CarTrust report for their car on delivery.
The outcome
Fewer disputes at handover, and the client has a record to show their insurer or bank.

What CarTrust can and can't tell you

  • Auction records cover cars sold through Japanese auctions; other sources may have little history.
  • The duty calculator estimates duty from KRA's CRSP values; the final amount is set by KRA at clearance.
  • Reports are run per chassis number; there's no bulk upload yet.
