Where can I find my VIN?

Your Vehicle Identification Number can be found in several places on the vehicle or in your documents.
1

Dashboard / Windshield

Visible from outside the vehicle, look through the bottom corner of the windshield on the driver's side. The VIN is etched onto a small metal plate.

2

B-Pillar / Door Jamb

Open the driver's door and look at the frame where the door latches. The VIN is usually on a sticker containing tyre pressure and weight information.

3

Engine Bay / Firewall

Look for a metal plate or a direct stamping on the firewall — the metal wall separating the engine from the passenger cabin.

4

Interior Floorpan

Common in modern SUVs. Lift a small plastic flap in the carpet directly in front of or under the driver's seat.

5

Spare Tire Area

Lift the carpet in the trunk and check near the spare tire well. Some manufacturers stamp the VIN directly onto the metal floor.

6

Chassis / Frame Rail

On some older vehicles or 4x4s, the VIN is stamped directly onto the chassis frame behind one of the front wheels.

7

Vehicle Documents

If the physical VIN is hard to reach, check your Logbook (V5C), Insurance certificate, or NTSA inspection report.
